Clean Equity Monaco Award Winners
 

The CleanEquity Monaco awards were presented by the Sovereign on the final day of the CleanEquity Monaco conference (sponsored by Barclays Wealth and Barclays Capital), in Monte Carlo, in February 2008. Awards were presented in three categories:

Excellence in the field of environmental technology research

Excellence in the field of environmental technology development

Excellence in the field of environmental technology commercialisation


A special award was presented to Prince Albert, the Sovereign of Monaco, for his work in promoting environmental issues.

UK based ITM Power, which is listed on the AIM market in London, is a developer of low-cost hydrogen technologies. The Company has developed new materials and processes that dramatically reduce the cost of fuel cells and electrolysers. The patented membrane materials used in the devices have higher performance and are 1% of the cost of the industry standard  materials. Electrolysers work by converting water and electricity into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen produced can be used as a replacement for fossil fuels and facilitate zero carbon housing and pollution free motoring.

Based in Germany, Zenergy Power plc, which is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, is a global specialist manufacturer and developer of commercial applications for superconductive materials. The company is highly focused on the commercialization of energy efficient applications to be adopted in renewable energy power generation, energy distribution and large scale energy intensive industrial processes and recently achieved the world’s first commercial sale of an industrial scale HTS (High Temperature Superconductor) device.

US Geothermal


Based in the United States of America, Clean Diesel (listed on NASDAQ, Xetra and AIM) has developed a suite of products, which substantially reduce the amount of harmful emissions from combustion engines. Their products are now being sold to CocaCola for the retrofitting of their US fleet of 25,000 trucks and to truck operators within the European city “Low Emission Zones”. They have also licensed other products to Tier 1 industry suppliers such as Bosch and Tenneco.
