Sale value: > 6x return on original investment

Four years after its original acquisition, ISIS Equity Partners has sold its “significant minority stake” in environmental consultancy SLR Holdings.The buyer is fellow venture house 3i, said to have invested £32.5 million in a deal  that values the company at around £100 million.

The transaction was leveraged with £29 million provided by Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets.  For the year to October 2007, SLR reported revenues of £31.6 million and EBITDA of £6.6 million.

Under the new management, SLR will expand internally in international markets such as India and Australasia. The company envisages floating in the mid-term, and will also aim to make selective acquisitions in North America.

International environmental consultancy SLR Holdings is based in Oxford, UK. The company focuses on the energy sector and its client portfolio includes blue-chip companies in the oil, renewable energy and the private sector waste management industries. It employs more than 650 people in 18 offices in the UK and 24 offices in North America.
