Fortis Investments has launched a fund focused on clean energy European investments. The fund’s target is €400 million and cornerstone investor, Fortis Bank, has committed around €50 million of that total.

Fortis' Clean Energy fund will have a preference for majority stakes and will focus on long term investments with predictable cash flows. The minimum ticket for LP investment is €3.5 million.

Investment focus

Fortis’ new fund will provide financing at the project level in clean energy, with preference given to wind, small hydro, solar photovoltaic and biomass. The GPs will look at investment opportunities on a global basis, although the fund’s main portfolio will consist of European clean power generation projects.
