Private equity investor Doughty Hanson plans to acquire Danish industrial brake solutions provider, Svendborg Brakes, for €460m. Svendborg Brakes, which has operations in 15 countries and recently set up operations in China, supplies brakes to most of the major turbine manufacturers. Doughty Hanson already owns wind turbine blade manufacturer, LM Glasfiber. LM Glasfiber, also based in Denmark, controls a share of around 30% of the global wind turbine blade market.
