Rushlight Awards
The Rushlight Awards recognise and celebrate the significant achievements of UK and Irish technology, innovation and commerce in helping to address the key issues of climate change, waste and pollution management.
In 1997, the overall award winner (sponsored by NESTA) was G24 Innovations. G24i’s has developed a dye sensitised thin film which enables it to manufacture thin, flexible and versatile nano-enabled photovoltaic (solar) material that converts light energy into electrical energy, even under low-light, indoor conditions. The G24i product can create electric energy even in the absence of direct sunlight.
